Early October and we are now in the slowly fading final days of summer. Autumn is calling and the leaves on the trees will soon be slowly turning into a kaleidoscope of mad yellows, reds and orange. Before long the clocks will go forward, the nights will shorten and the temperatures drop as winter begins to bite. So when a bright sunny day presents itself on a weekend you have to snatch your opportunity and get a few miles on the clock. Good fun, good for the bike and above all, good for your soul.
It was in this spirit that Mrs Radar and I joined Thumper, his Mrs and Toggs for a little trip in Shropshire. We met up at the charming Spiders Web cafe a stones throw from Cosford. This warm and friendly little cafe is run by a delightful group of ladies and the food was great.
The crew gather at the Spiders Web
The salad was light and lettuce crunchyWe took in the museum at Cosford again (it’s free!) this time focusing on the WW2 and test aircraft halls. We got lucky too as there was a gathering of classic sports cars in the car park too..all good fun.
Parking up at Cosford…the big yellow top box is off the BMW…
Free classic car show thrown in…
Toggs discussing Triumph Stag part numbers, he has one tucked up at home
Thumper and his (much) better half check out the Avro Lincoln, which is allegedly haunted
Toggs and his lovely GT550…you can’t beat a 2-stroke with a wailing spannie! All in a good mornings fun, the furthest I have ridden two-up on the ZR and I have a few good memories to reflect upon during those dark days of winter…
